Food Pantry Volunteer

Volunteers in Family Support Services assist staff with food and donation programs by putting together food bags and assisting participants when they come to pick-up groceries. 

No previous experience required. Bilingual Spanish-speakers are strongly encouraged to participate!
Requirements

• Be able to lift 20 pounds 

• Be 18 years or older

• Volunteer in person at our facility in downtown Santa Cruz

• Have not received domestic violence services as a participant with Walnut Avenue for a minimum of two years

• Attend a Walnut Avenue volunteer orientation

• Pass a fingerprinting/criminal background check

Time Commitment

• Volunteers are needed on Thursdays and Fridays. Morining shift is 9am - 1pm and afternoon shift is 2pm - 5pm. 

Associated Costs

• Standard criminal background check: $45
