Golf Tournament Committee Member

Objective:
Join Reach for Resources, a nonprofit empowering individuals to reach their full potential by fostering independence, community involvement, and overall well-being. As a committee member, you'll give back to the community, gain valuable experience, and make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:
Support the planning and execution of Reachs annual golf tournament by contributing skills to the event strategy, recruitment, and day-of operations.

Sub-Committees:
Committee members focus on one of three areas:

  • Sponsorships Develop sponsorship plans, refine sponsorship levels, identify potential sponsors, and secure sponsorships outside of other Reach events.
  • In-Kind Donations Secure donations for the raffle, auction, games, and swag bags; target new and past donors outside of other Reach events.
  • Golfer Recruitment Retain past participants and recruit new golfers to fill a field of 144.
  • One member per sub-committee will serve as the team lead to coordinate tasks.

    Additional Tasks:

    • On-Course Games: Collaborate on ideas, balancing revenue-generating and awareness-raising activities.
    • Event Agenda: Help plan the event schedule for golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. One member (not the Development Officer) will oversee time management on event day.

    Meetings:

    • Held every two months starting in August, then monthly from January until the tournament.
    • Communication continues via email between meetings.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be 18+ and complete an interview with the Volunteer Manager.
    • Prior golf tournament experience or event planning is preferred.

    Training & Benefits:

    • Attend a volunteer orientation.
    • Gain skills in event planning, problem-solving, teamwork, and career development while contributing to the community.
    • Virtual meetings

    Commitment:

    • Minimum one-year commitment.

    Evaluation:
    Volunteers can assess their experience at the end of their term and decide to renew, explore a new role, or conclude their involvement with Reach for Resources.
