Discovery Day at Hunters Point: Event Helpers (18+)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Hunters Point Library is seeking volunteers to assist with Discovery Day which will be held Saturday, September 20th! This is an all-day event celebrating science with a special focus on the environment. As part of the festivities, we will be having a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for children and adults.

Volunteers will help staff run craft activities (DIY stickers, DIY buttons, community art project), help monitor programs (magic show and exercise for children), and answer basic directional questions. 


MINIMUM SKILLS 

• 18 or older
• Able to listen to instructions and follow directions 
• Friendly and outgoing
• Comfortable interacting with the public, refering visitors to staff as needed
• Willing and able to stand outside for the duration of the volunteer shift
• Volunteers must be able to available to stay for the full length of time of their volunteer shift

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is an in-person opportunity. Volunteers are required stand for longer periods.  Minors must complete a parental consent form to volunteer for this project.
