About this Opportunity

About the Event:
The Nashville Food Project’s Haywood Lane Garden supports Growing Together, a market garden program, which expands access and opportunity to refugees from agrarian backgrounds. In 2025, we are adding something extra exciting: a brand-new Farmers' Market right on-site, where these talented farmers and other local growers can showcase and sell fresh, local produce!

Want to be part of this vibrant community and score some free produce along the way? Join us as a volunteer at the Saturday Farmers' market! It's a chance to dive into the action, meet some incredible local growers, and connect with the community.

The Saturday Market kicks off on May 3rd and runs through November 22nd, and we're looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles.

What to Expect from the Opportunity:
Volunteers will support market operations by

  • helping with set-up
  • greeting and assisting customers
  • managing produce pick-up
  • guiding traffic and parking
  • handling sales and merchandise
  • creating a welcoming, community-centered atmosphere

Registration:
We use a third-party website for our shift sign-ups. After expressing interest, our Volunteer Engagement Manager will send you a link to sign up for your desired shift. At this point, we will share more information about the workday, including details on what to wear/bring and directions to the farm.

Please note that "expressing interest" on our page on Hands On will not sign you up for this shift nor does our page on Hands reflect the accurate number of spots available for any given shift. See below for more information.
